Whenever I read a book that identifies a famous person and then recommends that we can improve our lives by emulating some of the things they do my first question is why this person. Well, the author answered that question very well in the first two chapters. The author rightly points out that there are some things that Elon Musk does that we could emulate in our life to make it better and I agree. The book is well written and does a good job of describing who Elon Musk is and what behaviors are worth emulating. The author then explains very well how to use the lessons from Elon Musk in our lives. The reader can greatly benefit from reading this book. If they do a small portion of the things Elon Musk does, I think they can improve themselves.
It is aways interesting to read books about how some successful person came to accomplish what most of us never will. And if I happen to discover even one helpful tip or habit I can incorporate into my own life while reading along, I consider that book well worth my time. On the other hand, if I find several things to grab hold of that actually make a difference in my life, I like to tell everyone about it. The Elon Musk Method by Randy Kirk is this kind of book. But there is a surprise in it.Randy Kirk has a gift for taking a complicated subject and distilling it down to easy-to-understand principles that get results. He not only convinces--but encourages--the reader that by practicing even a fraction of The Elon Musk Method, their own business will be increased. The surprise is that you actually come away believing it. I found this extremely exciting. So much that I immediately went out and bought extra copies of the book for friends and family members that I felt could also benefit from reading it.I would recommend this book to anyone in business for themselves, or thinking about it. Because it isn't just an informative book--it's a life-changing one.
I thought I knew a lot about Elon Musk from the news, but there is so much more that the average person just doesn’t see. The author gives us a brief introduction into the history of Elon Musk and then suggests that there are some real good reasons he has had one success after another.He then gives us a list of what he sees as the methods that Musk uses that can be used by anyone in leadership to get better results. He leaves passion and persistence until the end in a fitting exclamation point to all of the others. It seems that Musk and the author both feel that these two characteristics are paramount in any endeavor.The writing is breezy and easy to read. I almost felt like I was sitting down for a conversation.

Randy has taken all the public information and business advice spread out all over the web and media and culled it down into one place we can all use and understand. Very inspirational and powerful lessons all in one place. If you're an entrepreneur interested in challenging yourself, I recommend you read Kirk's book on Elon Musk. It's organized, easy to understand and fun!
A down-to-earth, real-world, practical how-to book on using the Musk mind-set to succeed as an entrepreneur. I especially enjoyed the section that starts at page 70, on how to become an expert in your field using the Musk Method. This should be required reading for all aspiring entrepreneurs.
Wow! Another hit by Randy Kirk. I learned alot about Elon Musk, and myself, too, in the process.
The book is geared towards independent business owners who are looking for insights from the successes of Elon Musk. Although Kirk includes some biographical information about Musk, it is primarily a discussion of methodologies and practices. Sixteen practices, such as curious; observer; expert; leader insists on incremental improvement and others are discussed in depth. Musk's incredible persistence, absorption of knowledge via reading and networking, and other practices are laid out in logical order for the reader. I like the quotes peppered throughout the book. Kirk's fundamental premise is that you don't have to be a Musk to get some benefit from studying Musk's accomplishments. 99.999% of us are not cut from the same cloth. Instead, you can pick and choose the practices and philosophies that apply to your business. The only thing I did not like was the slightly misogynic comments he presented from a religious organization, Promise Keepers. It was suggested that men and women should not travel together on business unless chaperoned. Apparently the risk of male temptation is more significant than the risk of shutting women off from business insights gained through conversation with their peers. Burqua anyone? However, this was just one flaw in the book. The rest of it was well worth the read. As an independent consultant myself since 2003, the book's recommendations ring true.
