I really read this book a lot. I am in a garden club which I enjoy so much. Will be starting classes on Flower Design in next few months. I have only worked with real live flowers and plants. But the book gives you color schemes, placing of leaves, limbs and what vase or container fits for the best outcome. I am not creative but this gives me hope. Glad I purchased.

Good introductory for some like me who is learning​ flower design.

My instructor recommended book and said it is useful for floral designs. It helps as a refresher and gives ideas to create designs.

This is an excellent reference book for anyone learning to create floral arrangements. The book covers all of the elements of design, as well as flower types and materials.

I have tried several books on flower design, and this is one of the best. Very understandable, easy to follow and clear. I am a beginner and it has helped me tremendously. Bought it toghether with "A Master Guide to the Art of Floral Design" by Alisa de Jong, and am very happy with both books, they complement each other well. The pictures are wonderful and they help to get your imagination going.

If you like to make floral arrangments this book is for you, a lot of information.

Excellent for basics in design including Euroean concepts. Well instructed with pictorials for every occasion. Easily understood and concise explanations

I normally prefer to review each book separately to be fair but I felt I should warn readers that do not like novellas and especially those ending in cliffhangers that this is what you will find inside this series. I was never so happy to finish it (I'm stubborn that way) and delete it from my Kindle. The entire series could have been told in one or two books at tops, I don't get why authors think this is what readers want. This author has only turned me off of reading anything further if this is what to expect. The story line was okay (that's why I chose 3 stars rather than 2) and Carrie and Gavin were likable enough but all the fluff written in the book to extend their story to 8 books was nonsense. I'm so done.

The writing and story line was very good. Gavin and Carrie meet in a bar on a dare, she is a paralegal going to law school with no time for a relationship. Gavin works behind the scenes for them to run into each other until she agrees to see him. As their relationship progress's several things come to light, his shady business partner, who he has been trying to get information on regarding the death of his fiancee 5 years ago turn out to be her divorce attorney boss's new client. She starts investigating him and the women he is seen with for their case. Some who have turned up missing, a sex trafficking operation is uncovered and her life is in danger when Howard kidnaps her. Fortunately he calls in Gavin and he saves her. A year later, The French Connection part of the book is when they plan to open a Club Prive in Cannes France and more sex trafficking comes to light. Carrie has become a pro bono attorney for abused women and she and Gavin have drifted apart due to working to much, their trip to Canne is to try to reconnect. Which they do and get their HEA.

Wow uh this series is defiantly for mature audiences only! Having said that, this series is really really good! I did love the 2 main characters & the things they went through both good & bad & sexual was WOW! I wish this series could've continued! I feel as if these characters are not done yet! When the series ends to me it feels as if it's just beginning! This series is worth the read!

Wow, this is so intense, exciting, so much drama, the sexual chemistry between Gavin and Carrie is so off the charts, he pushes her too the limits, past anything she ever thought she could/ would ever possibly do/feel. Topics of attorneys, sex clubs, extortion, sex trafficking of women, murder, this series has it all, so good, a must read, will keep you coming back for more.

A story with a weak plot is surrounded by page after page after page after page of sex. It just dragged on and on. I finally had to skip pages at a time to get to the end. I'm one of those people that has to finish a book. It would have been better if the story and characters had been better developed. The only thing that was clear is that they had a lot of sex.

I loved this series. But the box set comes out much better. Anyways this book keeps u intrigued , suspenseful, happy, mad etc but wow what a ending lots of twist all is not what it seems!

I really liked this series. I was hooked from the first chapter when Carrie was pushed into introducing herself to Gavin and then the sparks never fizzelled out. I loved the love story, the mild BDSM, hardly any really, and the twists and turns to keep you wondering what was going to happen next. Even though you knew that Gavin and Carrie would find each other and be together, there was always something or someone to try and stop it. I would highly recommend this book for a very interesting read.

Gavin and Carrie's relationship had plenty of obstacles in their path. They made it thru all of them and the relationship grew stronger thru it all. So did their love. :-)

An awesome book. Very readable, simply and clearly written, and full of useful tips and helpful case illustrations. I would recommend it highly to all adults who love working with and helping kids.

The purpose of writing this book is to integrate information from the fields of biochemistry, immunology, genetics, nutrition, and microbiology about autism, ADD, and PDD into a form that could be assimilated by both parents, professionals such as nutritionists and dietitians, and physicians who deal with children with these disorders. Long conversations with hundreds of parents of children with autism and PDD, including many who are themselves physicians, have provided me with many clues to these disorders. The wealth of information on the abnormalities of the immune system in autism leads me to the conclusion that the genetic factors in autism appear to be primarily those affecting the immune system. In my view, the anatomical abnormalities in the brain that have been documented may be secondary to abnormal metabolic function caused by abnormal microbial metabolites and/or toxic peptides from wheat and milk, which in turn are due to an impaired immune system. The information in this book may be useful not only for people with autism but also for children with any disorder in which some of the symptoms of autism are sometimes or frequently present including pervasive developmental disorder (PDD), Rett's syndrome, Williams disease, neurofibromatosis, tuberous sclerosis, Fragile X, Down's syndrome, Tourette's syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, and attention deficit disorder(ADD). Many of the same abnormalities in autism are also present in these disorders and the therapies suggested in this book for autism may also help children and adults with these other disorders as well. My objectives are to describe the abnormalities in autism and related disorders and to describe some of the therapies that are frequently beneficial for children and adults who have some or all of the symptoms of autism. Although a few children have completely recovered from autism using the therapies outlined in this book (and the parents of two of them include their accounts in this book), I am not suggesting that all children will benefit but hope that many will benefit to some degree. I think that the accounts of the two mothers whose children recovered are very important because of the similarities of the therapies they used. Both mothers obtained information and instituted therapy independently. Both children were diagnosed early about the age of two years. Both mothers independently arrived at the use of antifungal therapy, an antiyeast diet low in sugar and free of yeast, treatment of food allergies, and a gluten and casein-free diet as key cornerstones of therapy but also used intensive behavioral interventions as well. You will note that there are significant differences in the nutritional and antifungal approaches presented by different authors in this book. I realize that this may be confusing but this information honestly reflects the fact that there are still many unknowns. You may wish to experiment with several of the different nutritional and antifungal approaches to determine which ones are most beneficial for your patient or your child. Some of this material may be difficult but I have made every attempt to simplify it without distorting the meaning. Knowledge is power. Much of this information may not be familiar to parents or to medical practitioners. The parent who reads this book should assume that their family doctor or even their neurologist or other specialist may not know nearly as much as they do about autism after reading this book. Most of the information has been available in the form of research papers that have been available only to medical research specialists but was essentially unknown by persons outside the narrow specialty. There has been a tremendous increase in the application of knowledge about autism and PDD that was stimulated by a group of physicians and scientists who met in Dallas in January 1995 as a part of Dr. Bernard Rimland's Defeat Autism Now! (DAN!) Conference. My goal for this book is to allow your child to be healthier and function better so that both you and your child will have a better life. I am sure to be criticized for recommending action based on "incomplete" or "anecdotal" data. While acknowledging the great benefits of antibiotics in treating disease, I think the overuse of antibiotics may have been the single most damaging medical treatment of the last half of this century for some of our children. However, I think the dangers to our children are too great to wait until all data are perfect, meaning that we should wait forever. The Red Cross refused to act on behalf of the Jews in German concentration camps in World War II despite numerous reports of genocide because the evidence was "anecdotal" rather than "definitive." It has taken nearly 50 years from the time of the first research linking lung cancer and smoking to get restrictions on cigarette use for minors. It took 25 years from the initial discovery that folic acid supplementation prevented a birth defect called spina bifida until extra folic acid supplements were recommended for pregnant women. The stakes for the safety of our children are too high to wait forever.

Wow, I really got slammed by people who gave this book five stars. Just for the record, I also have devoted 100% of my life, time and attention to my son because I too have the financial means and desire to do so. My point in my original review was that this book was too confusing and there is contradictory information. I have studied very much on the subject and there's no doubt that some of the theories are correct. For example, I agree with the vaccine problem issue. But in our case, the antibiotic issue doesn't hold water because he's never used antibiotics except for a couple of times. Also, some of the treatments are good, but there are better books out there which explain this in a less confusing and frightening manner. Also, the author DOES try to get you to send all blood tests to his lab. :)

Autism is very complicated and not well understood. Dr. Shaw is a living legend! Here he tries to consider different possibilities. He includes information from different parents, medical analysis, lab work, theories, etc. Read it and learn! Fight for your child!

I too found this book, touted as a bible in dietary intervention circles, to contain a lot of conflicting information. The author/editor claims yeast is at the bottom of it all. Some contributors found a diet to limit yeast to be more severe than required, and stuck to casein and gluten free. The reader is told that their child may improve immediately, in a few days, in a few months, or not for a year. If symptoms recur, it could be due to a newly developed food sensitivity. It seems more likely to me that improvements/regressions are not due to the diet at all. Also, it troubles me that this scientist's work is not being replicated consistently, and that tests must be performed in his lab to ensure a "valid" result. Finally, the allegation that immunizations "cause" autism has recently been refuted through statistically significant studies. Well, I guess this is autism at the millenium. Maybe we don't believe anymore that mothers cause autism with the emotional diet they offer their children. Now, some will have us believe that the very nourishment we give our children causes this heartbreaking disability. I don't buy it.

This is one of the most comprehensive, up-to-date research available to parents/guardians of autistic individuals. This book gives critical information on treatments that ARE effective in helping individuals diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorder. Also, parents of children diagnosed with ADD ADHD and learning disabilities will benefit. THERE ARE TREATMENTS FOR AUTISM. Wonderful book which includes parent testimonials.

Used it for research on a restoration. Excellent rare photos.

Ludvigsen's first book on the 550 Porsche Spyder was much better documented with the evolution of the 550 both historically & technically.Lip service paid only to 550A with only a very few photos - none of car from the rear or cockpit/dash. No indication of number made etc. The Porsche Spyder RSK never showed "k" torsion bar front end, Never indicated how 718 differed from RSK, never indicated production numbers of the numerous variants with 4 cylinder & 8 cylinder. The whole book appeared to be hastily put together and really did not come close to his informative Porsche 550 Spyder Book in sum or substance and subsequently not worth the wait or the money.

I purchased this book because I first saw a Spyder race in Marlboro, MD in 1960 and I have followed them since. I have started to build a copy of a 1960 RS60 and this book is invaluable in giving me the details of the interior.

Porsche Spyders 1956-1964 is an excellent book. The archival photos beautiful and very well selected. The accompaning text is very detailed and well matched to the photos for illustrative purposes. In this regard, the book exceeded expectations because it is intended to be a collection of rare photos of the stunning 718 Spyder.

What's not to love? I'm a Porsche Boxster S owner.

About the Author

Tayari Jones is the author of four novels, including Silver Sparrow, The Untelling, Leaving Atlanta, and An American Marriage. She holds degrees from Spelman College, Arizona State University, and the University of Iowa. An Associate Professor in the MFA program at Rutgers-Newark University, she is spending the 2017-18 academic year as the Shearing Fellow for Distinguished Writers at the Beverly Rogers, Carol C. Harter Black Mountain Institute at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She blogs on writing at TayariJones.com/blog, and she lives in Brooklyn.

This novel was so brilliant and so moving. It is one of those books that take my breath away after I’ve finished it. I had to follow it up with something from another genre so as to not compare and be disappointed by a book I might normally love had it not had the bad luck to follow this amazing novel. Told from the perspective of three kids using first, second, and third person perspective was unique and perfect, the story so moving and heartbreaking. Even though it is March, I already know this will be a top 5 book for my 2018 reads.

I love Tayari Jones; this is the second book of hers that I've read, and it is excellent. The story is about the impact of the Atlanta child murders and is told from the perspective of several elementary school children who are living in Atlanta during that time. Jones has a great style and is a pleasure to read.

This book was so well written. I am thoroughly impressed with the use of three different POVs in this story. Very effective. A fictional story based around a true situation that happened in Atlanta. This is a must read. You won't be disappointed.

I helped raise three daughters. As their dad, I seldom understood them. I love them and they have all grown to be good successful women. Mostly, because they understood me. Thanks to this book understand them better. Also I've rid myself of the illogical prejudices I've held for years.Thanks for opening my eyes.

Good book bringing back memories of a very tragic part of American history that you don't hear about. I would have liked more information about the case, but that wasn't this book's purpose. It has, however, spurred my interest into finding out what the resolution and the aftermath of this tragedy was.

You never think that tragedies you see on tv can actually happen to or if you do, you still can't picture it. This took me into the the homes of a completely different world from my own and I felt what it must be like to be an African American child going through something so horrendous! I truly adored the character development and I'm sad that it ended. I would have happily read from everyone's perspective, especially an adult.

I found this book to be extremely interesting. I am however struggling if it was more interesting to me because although I did not live in Atlanta (many states away), I remember being highly impacted by the situation during those years. I found myself relating with the terror described in this book, as I was certainly that young person who felt terrified during this time-frame. I also understood the adults in the book, as many of my community activist, teachers, and parents formed new networks of getting children to and from locations (especially school) safely.I enjoyed the different characters that the author introduced in the story....her description of how children play together, poverty at that time, peer pressure, and just her dynamic use of narration, made this book an awesome read. You will find many high and low points of the book, but they are all understandable even if you are not from an urban setting. The author was on point with her setting and describing the key things that were popular during that time. I hope that others who do not remember many of these things (much younger audience), find the book as interesting and riveting as I did. I am looking at other works by this author.

I am so happy that I discovered this author. She is great. I read, An American Marriage and Now just finished Leaving Atlanta. I so enjoy her books. She draws you into the book, the pages, the story!
