I love this book .

Nice little quotes to put one to sleep, they do calm me down believe it or not. I realize when reading this I may not be as crazy as I was thinking and everyone was telling me. The reason this gets only four stars is that he makes all sorts of claims about "god", reality and such that he cannot know. It makes him sound a little silly at times. Like a petulant infant that has a bone to pick with existence and doesn't care about the facts. I wish he'd just stick to those facts. When he does he's got a great knock out punch

I have a great deal of books that are copyright free as I use pieces of the graphics in artwork. To do this you must scan the image first. The proplem is the quality of the paper these illustrations are printed on. It's hardly WHITE so once scanned you are required to go through the laborious task of photoshoping the background out. All to save a few pennies in it's production. It's a shame. If you are purchasing this book for scanning I would keep looking.

Randal O'Toole is well researched in his analysis of the transportation infrastructure. Although not all of his ideas are workable, it is refreshing to see a different point of view on improving infrastructure and traffic congestion than is offered by so many. Well structured critical analysis. This is worth the read and should be required for all legislators and civil engineers.

As a Civil Engineer trainee with a master's degree, one of my interests is in transportation policy and how some proposed projects will (or will not) solve the problems that are facing us. I stumbled upon this book while reading about a proposed high-speed rail system in my home state, and finding many flaws in the plan.I've been reading this book, "Gridlock: Why We're Stuck in Traffic and What to Do About It", and it has offered a fresh perspective on transportation issues. The book explores many topics in transportation, including some history on transportation; some thoughts on mass transit and high-speed rail; environmental impact of different kinds of transportation; the economical and financial aspects of transportation improvements; and even on driverless cars. One of the most interesting facts I have learned from reading this book has been that the transportation improvement that has made the most positive impact on the environment has been to improve traffic signal coordination. It also turns out that mass transit really isn't that environmentally friendly compared to driving. For example, Florida's high-speed rail system (which has now been killed and re-killed) would have used up to 6 times as much energy as the cars they would have replaced!Some may criticize this book as "agenda-driven misinformation". That, it is not. It is a book grounded in the truth, and the conclusions that O'Toole makes follow well from his assertions. Like any good researcher, he cites his sources for all of his statements and assertions. I have personally checked many of his references myself and have found them to be reliable.I believe that this book ought to be required reading for all transportation professionals, whether they be at the university, working in the public sector (state DOT, etc.) or in the private sector (consulting). I believe in the freedom of movement, and after you read this book you may find as I have that we can (and should!) find creative ways to be better stewards of our energy, environmental, and economic resources while still preserving and enhancing this very important freedom.

O'Toole does a great job of composing an excellent book on the modern challenges of transportation policies, funding, congestion, and mass transit. A must read for anyone interested in transportation issues.The book made me confront a few soft and hard biases on the effectiveness and efficiency of certain transportation methods.

O'Toole claims that our cars are practically computer controlled anyway so why not use those computers to maintain a system of driverless cars that will eliminate gridlock by ostensibly eliminating the subjective elements of individual driver control. Sounds like a great idea, one which I recall Walter Cronkite's "21st Century" touting twenty years ago. There is lot to this book including important ideas about how government subsidizes a mass transit policy that actually encourages rather than eliminates gridlock. But I wanted to simply mention that one of the main criticisms - how would you phase in such a system when it takes twenty to thirty years to turnover the existing automobile inventory - could in my view be easily accomplished either by dividing the existing road network into driver and driverless similar to HOV lanes and/or having the cars be built with dual mode systems (e.g. autopilot). In any case well worth the read.

This is a must read for direct sales people. It is well written and contains some valuable information to survive and be successful in the direct sales industry.

This was the first book I read when I started in Network Marketing a year ago. I read it, made the same mistakes Worre said not to do, bult a small business. I made about $700 my first month and after about 3 months of work consistently made $50-$100 a month. Then I stopped working the business for about a year. The $50-$100 kept coming in (because of the type of business, very few customers drop out once they become customers). I wanted to re-commit to the business, so I started listening to the audio book. I started seeing what I was doing wrong. Eric would occasional weigh in with comments like "m ost distributors do this. Don't do that!" kind of advice that spoke directly to me.I started listening about two weeks or so ago. In that time I picked up a bunch of customers, a new team member and I went from begging people to do presentations to having 3 presentations/week (so 6 so far, one new associate, one person doing his due diligence, and more presentations scheduled).Obviously, a lot of that change came from my own experience. But this book (along with others, but this was the best for me) helped me make sense of my experience.Of course the book isn't perfect. It could certainly benefit by showing how social media can fit in to your tool kit-- and this is something that Worre does go into outside of his book. Also his online trainings and videos fill in a lot of the gaps, such has his "blitz" strategies that I've seen other people use to go right to the top of our organization in a very short time.But Eric's motto is "not perfect, but better". So far, I haven't met perfect. But I also haven't met better than Worre. Get the book, but don't stop here. It's only a piece of the puzzle.

I have a direct sales company and this book has helped me and my husband boost our companies. I highly recommend this book to those who are looking to boost their companies through network marketing

I thought the book was great. For the people that thought that it was for the camera. May god bless you. The book gives steps but you have to tailor it to yourself when implementing the steps. MLM is not a pyramid scheme, well most are not. How is damn near every job out there??? Store/ business owner -> manager -> assistant managers -> leads -> then all the low level pawns that make the big wig the money. Does the CEO show you how to do his job? If anything, this industry of NM helps you become a better you!Good day to you all.

I seriously COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!If you are in any type of networking marketing this book is the ultimate guide to success. So well written, relateable and a ton of info in a small amount of reading. I purchased this as part of a network marketing class that I was taking with weekly meetings. This was are reading "requirement" I'm so glad I purchased.. My only regret is that I bought the kindle version. I WISH I would have bought myself a hard copy!! I may still do that!!! LOVE! BUY THIS YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

This is an incredible easy book to read that is filled with lots of tips and tools that can help you move from a place you may be uncomfortable to a better place.
